I wanted to make a separate post to give some information on October customs. I'm currently taking custom orders for longies, hats, soakers, shorties, and socks for your little one at prettycakesknits@yahoo.com. I will update the About Me section of the blog with information on sizing and pricing, and I will hopefully have some pictures up of my latest projects by tomorrow evening at the latest.
In the meantime, please feel free to visit my gallery of past work!

Well, that was a long time!
Have you ever intended to start doing something, and then got so caught up in everything that relates to that thing, that you never accomplished your initial goal? It seems that's what's happened with me and this blog!
So I have still been around and have been knitting, but I have been doing a lot more knitting for me (my daughter, really) recently. I have been thinking of opening my own store at Hyena Cart, but I am really enjoying doing custom orders via e-mail. I think there is less pressure that way than there is trying to stock a store, but that may change in the future. =)
I'm itching to get some pictures up of my recent knits, but that will have to wait until I get some new batteries for my camera. I have been venturing into sock knitting and got some super-yummy Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn yesterday - it's in the most brilliant, vibrant shades of oranges and reds. I kept pulling it out of the bag to pet it, it's so soft. (I know that many of you have pet your yarn and knits; it's okay to admit it!)
Anyway, I will definitely been updating the blog on at least a weekly basis, so if you're a fellow knitter and are looking to be enabled, are looking for some affordable hand-knits for your little one, or are just plain interested in the ramblings of a yarn addict, then stop by anytime!

Welcome!
Hi, my name is Megan and I'm addicted to knitting!
I'm in the process of starting my own small business knitting diaper covers and other accessories, and thought that a blog would be a good way to connect to my customers and keep them informed. I'm hoping to open an online shop in the next month or so, but for now I've been taking orders via e-mail and my business has been spreading by word-of-mouth.
A little about me:
I'm a SAHM to my beautiful baby girl, Susannah Mae, who was born on October 21, 2006. She's the light of my life and I love being a mom! I'm also a part-time student and am hoping to graduate in December with my BA in Psychology.
I'm married to my best friend, J.W. He is also a student and spent 4 years in the USMC. He was recently recalled to active duty. We don't have a set date yet, but he will spend about a year based out of California and will be deployed to Iraq for the majority of that year. We love our Marine and we're very proud of him for serving our country!
My plans after graduation are a bit up in the air because of the deployment. I was planning on starting grad school in August 2008 to earn my PhD in Developmental Psychology, but it looks like I will be putting those plans on hold until the following year.
In the meantime, I'll be spending my spare time knitting!
Please bear with me as I get my blog set up! It will probably take a few days for it to be completely up and running. In the meantime, you can contact me at prettycakesknits@yahoo.com with any questions you may have!
